Notice how both parties will focus on things like ballots being added at night, but will not bring up the worst point of how the electronic voting machines are easily rigged by the companies that make them. No hacking needed.
As for Trump and abortion.... He's not against it, but thinks it should be decided by the state. I'm ok with that because example in Kansas the people pushed back against the Christian anti abortion bs and got it back.
It's a good thing that gives people a sight into their antiquated politicians.
I don’t agree that voting is ritual humiliation. I believe the voters are voting for people just like them. In fact, your whole essay implies that something is being done to the voter. But in reality, the voter is expressing themselves. If it’s not as complex as one would hope, it’s because the voter is not complex. I believe it is a fact that the uniparty voter in America voluntarily approves of the system. The system that is absurd to the rational, the uniparty voter admires and is completely a part of. Those in power here, got 140 million Americans to vote for the uniparty. There are no convincing signs that the American uniparty voter is waking up. In fact, they consider it an insult that you presume they aren’t. awake.
Something IS being done to the voter. They're being deceived into thinking that they can achieve meaningful change by voting for a uniparty. Everything you say about the voter approving of / admiring the system does not change the fact that they're being deceived, and therefore being humiliated. The fact that they approve just means the deceit is successful...for now. That is obviously inherent in the meaning of deception. An act of humiliation is taking place and those on the receiving end will feel humiliated if/when they realise they have been deceived. I think they do feel ashamed and foolish, and therefore humiliated, after the election when they don't get the things they want. They then mask the failure with cognitive dissonance and, like Homer Simpson, put their hands back on the hot plate. The fact that there is something masochistic about the whole thing does not, in my opinion, detract from the overall quality of humiliation in this interaction between fools and the Establishment. But hey, if Trump saves America and freedom, and delivers everything MAGA freedom fighters want, then you're right and I'm wrong. The article is just an opinion.
They aren't being "deceived". They are voting for their party, that's it. They only want their party to win. And you're misunderstanding me if you think I'd be right if Trump saves America. Where did you get that from? The American uniparty voter is not being deceived, they're apparently deceiving you. Again, they are just like the people they vote for.
Ok, so you're saying the voter wants nothing more than to see a mirror image of themselves in power? They don't care what the party does once it's in power? Pure, raw, undistilled identity politics. If that's what you are saying, then you're right! There's no humiliation because everyone is getting EXACTLY what they want. IF I have understood you correctly, I'm still not in agreement because I don't think it's as simple as you make it out to be. But I accept the premise of your argument. It's an interesting premise. I'll think more about it, but my instinct tells me that human psychology can't be that simple.
"the voter wants nothing more than to see a mirror image of themselves in power?" Very well put! I wrote something that hopefully captures it: "Are you a genocidal psychopath? Are you a pedophile? Thief? War criminal?
If you answered "yes" to any of those questions, the American voter wants YOU! America is facing a time where their most revered criminals are getting too old to form a coherent sentence and they would like new criminals to vote for.
Are you a transparent pathological liar? Do you babble on about nothing while still being able to sign papers? President of the U.S. is within your grasp. We have the population form-fitted for you. The American voter is somehow uniquely able to put aside your record, your behaviour, and your intent to commit atrocities. The American voter will overlook all that so long as you're a "democrat" or "republican". That's it!
Do you like torture? Abusing and murdering children? Rape? Then the American voter wants you in their uniparty."
I think the American uniparty voter is being given a pass, again. Genocides are done by powerful groups of people or totalitarian States. And it's kept hidden for as long as possible. But the genocide in Gaza has been livestreamed and broadcast all over the world for 403 days. It is the most documented genocide in human history. That's no deal-breaker for the uniparty voters. They are the only known people to have voted for a genocide to continue. The people they voted for obviously don't care a bit about Palestinians, but the uniparty voters are just like them--they don't care about the Palestinians either. Karl Jaspers delivered a series of lectures called, "The Question of German Guilt". It's high time that the modern lectures start on 'The Question of American-Voter Guilt'.

The evidence I cited in the article isn't even the half of it. There's a better chance of a free and fair election in Rwanda than the US!

Lol ! Ok, when you put it like that, I'm willing to concede you could be right.
