If you’re claiming to be part of a ‘Freedom’ Movement and you’re blocking people critical of your viewpoint (and therefore trying to filter out that criticism from reaching your followers) you gotta ask: Whose side are you really on?
Maybe Elmer was right to proclaim the death of the so-called Freedom Movement. Being one of its unwitting murderers is a little ironic though.
“A Communist”. <sigh>. Again, ideology…you know my thoughts on that. But mustn’t read too much into twitter bios. For all I know, ‘Communism in Hong Kong’ could be so extreme in its libertarian ethos as to make the average libertarian anarchist in the US look like Mao Zedong. There could be a sub-text of freedom in it that is completely unfathomable to the unschooled eye.
As for my views on the ‘Freedom’ Movement, you live and learn. I used to think it was something concrete, something you could pin down. I’m not so sure anymore. I will now be using that term far less in my writing. It’s starting to feel a bit childish.
Updated 9 December remove ‘censor’ and replace with explanation of ‘blocking’.
Freedom means freedom even for those you don’t like
This is pretty elementary but often forgotten
Thanks for your great work
I was a fan of Elmer then I was blocked by him a few months ago after I asked him about his past as a Class War activist - he earlier had claimed he would have nothing to do with anarchists. When I linked to a video : 0WZXOoNnbv0 (youtube) he blocked me and deleted his replies. Seems he did not want his followers to know. But that raised more questions for me: why does a very well spoken posh boy like elmer claim to represent the working class anyway? My guess is he's not who he says he is.
